About
The Draped Bust Half Dollar was the second design type for the United States half dollar denomination. It was issued with two different reverse designs. The first featuring a small eagle was minted from 1796 to 1797, and the second featuring a heraldic eagle was minted from 1801 to 1807. The earlier subtype is considerably rarer and a difficult acquisition for type set collectors.
